Introduction to the Principles of Cable Tray Installation
2025-11-24 01:16:54

1. Environmental Assessment

First, confirm whether there are high-voltage or high-temperature equipment at the designed installation location. Special attention should be paid to chemical liquids in the surrounding area to avoid potential hazards from these factors.

2. Cable Routing Requirements

When laying cables, they shall be kept straight without twisting on the tray. Whenever possible, install cables on the side of the tray adjacent to process pipelines to facilitate cable laying and component maintenance.

3. Clearance Requirements

Distance from Walls: The net distance between the tray and the wall shall be determined based on the size and quantity of cables on the tray to ensure sufficient operating space. For ceiling-mounted trays, the clearance shall not be less than 15cm.

Horizontal Spacing: Adjacent horizontal trays shall not be installed too closely—maintain a spacing of 5cm or more. When multiple groups of cable trays (multi-layer) are installed in parallel at the same height, the spacing between groups shall be more than 60cm.

4. Multi-Layer Installation Requirements

The vertical spacing (interlayer distance) between upper and lower layers of multi-layer trays shall meet design requirements. In the absence of specific design specifications:

Interlayer distance for control cables: Not less than 0.2m

Interlayer distance for power cables: Not less than 0.3m

Distance between power cables and weak current cables: Not less than 0.5m (can be reduced to 0.3m if shielded covers are installed)

5. Tray Positioning Coordination (Hebei Cable Tray Manufacturers)

Due to limited clear height, coordinate closely with construction personnel from other disciplines during tray positioning. Avoid conflicts with air ducts, large-diameter fire hoses, sprinklers, hot and cold water pipes, drainage pipes, ceiling-mounted air conditioning, and ventilation equipment to minimize unnecessary rework.

6. Key Installation Nodes

Cable trays can be installed at several key nodes, including:

Along roofs

Along walls (horizontal and vertical installation)

Along shafts

Along the ground

Along cable trenches

On pipe supports
