Cable Tray Selection Guide
1. Route Determination
The route of the cable tray shall be determined based on the building layout, arrangement of air conditioning ducts and electrical conduits, maintenance accessibility, and cable line density. Internally, it should be routed along the building’s walls, columns, beams, or floor slabs as much as possible. If installed in a common tunnel, it shall be erected parallel to one side or above the pipelines. Consideration shall be given to down conductors and branch lines to avoid crossings whenever possible. If no other pipeline supports are available for reuse, support columns shall be installed.
2. Load Calculation
Calculate the total weight of cables per unit length on the longitudinal section of the main cable tray.
3. Width Determination
The type and specification of the cable tray, length of support arms, length and spacing of columns, as well as the width and number of layers of the tray, shall be determined based on the number of cables, cable diameter, and cable spacing.
4. Installation Method Selection
Select the fixing method of the cable tray according to on-site conditions, including suspended type, vertical type, side wall-mounted type, or mixed type. Connectors and fasteners are usually provided as matching components. In addition, corresponding covers shall be selected and installed based on the tray structure.
Ladder Cable Tray Manufacturers
As introduced by Ladder Cable Tray manufacturers, when drawing the plan and section views of the cable tray, local isometric views shall also be drawn, and a bill of materials shall be listed.
